The Kraine Theater
85 East 4th Street
between 2nd & 3rd Aves
(accessible from the F train at 2nd Ave).
Tickets: $20 ($15 for students)
EndTimes Productions will present the New York Premiere of SMART, a true-crime drama based on the notorious Dartmouth Murders of 2001. Written by Robert Fieldsteel and directed by Russell Dobular, SMART was originally presented as part of VIGNETTES FOR THE APOCALYPSE, New York’s oldest and largest Sci-fi/Horror-themed theater festival, in June. This revised, re-worked production will run September 19 – October 24 at The Kraine Theater.
SMART centers around Doug, a college student who is writing his dissertation on a pair of high school classmates who brutally murder a college professor and his wife. Posing as students doing research for a school survey, the teens hatch a plan to take the couple by surprise, threaten them into revealing their bank PIN numbers, rob and kill them — all to get money for a trip to Australia. The chilling scenes play out as Doug interviews one of the murders from jail, delving deep into the mind of a cold-blooded killer.
SMART stars Alessandro Colla, Kiersten Armstrong, Kelly Riley, Matthew Glogowski, Anthony Mead and Becky Sterling with costumes by Christopher Johnston, special effects by Leah Dashe and sound design by Stefan Bensaid.
Robert Fieldsteel’s plays have been produced in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. For Crazy Drunk, he received the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Best World Premiere Play and the Backstage West Garland Award for Playwriting. He’s a proud member of L.A.’s Dog Ear Playwrights’ Collective. www.dogear.org. Also an L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award-winning actor, he has guest starred frequently on television and acted in films for such directors as John Cassavetes, Sidney Lumet, and Joe Dante.
Russell Dobular is a New York native, born and raised in Flushing, Queens. His plays have been presented in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, including the hits Manson: The Musical, Backseats and Bathroom Stalls, Angel Shit, and Everybody Dies and The Godling (which earned him Best Director at the 2009 San Francisco Fringe Festival). Currently the Artistic Director of EndTimes, Dobular also served as the founding Artistic Director of Horse Trade Theater Group from 1997-2000.
EndTimes Productions is an independent Theater/Film Production Company founded in New York City in 2006. Its mission is to foster emerging artists and provide them with new creative outlets. EndTimes provides its artists with free rehearsal space, staff support, complete coverage of production expenses, and, for young directors, a mentoring program in which they assist more experienced directors on full productions. Past productions include Knuckleball (NYC and Edinburgh), Naked Holiday, Easy Outs, and Dead Lawyers. EndTimes‘ production of The Godling won Best Ensemble, the Sold Out Award, and Best Director at the San Francisco Fringe Festival. They are also the producers of “Vignettes for the Apocalypse“, New York’s longest running sci-fi/horror theater festival where SMART was originally presented.
SMART runs September 19 – October 24, Mondays at 7:30pm. The Kraine Theater is located at 85 East 4th Street (between 2nd & 3rd Aves — accessible from the F train at 2nd Ave). Tickets are $20 ($15 for students), available at 212-352-3101 or www.EndTimesProductions.org

Game Show Fundraiser
April 26, 2011 by EndTimes Productions
One week from today, two BIG things are happening. It’s the second-to-last day of our Kickstarter campaign, and the night of our huge fantastic Game Show Fundraiser. That means we have 7 days to raise approx $5500!!! YEAH. SERIOUS. BUSINESS.
The Game Show Fundraiser!
Brooklyn Brewery
Time and Place
Monday, May 2nd
Roy Arias Studios
300 W 43rd St (Corner of 8th Ave), Room 500
The Off Broadway Theatre (seats 130!!!)
7:00pm – 10:00pm
$10 Admission
This space is great! We’re going to set up games on the stage, have seating in the house, and a stocked bar (beer has been lovingly provided by Brooklyn Brewery) to help you get your party on! All this, and two special main events to make the evening especially memorable! The preview of the Vignettes Horror-Rock Circus, featuring the cult band superstars Witches in Bikinis and (at least) 3 performances of Escape the Bunker, our fantastic tribute to the Hollywood Squares!
Check out what we’ve got in store for you:
———————————————————————————————————————-
-
Chess with Grandmaster Russell
Bobby Fischer was a punk. Grandmaster Russell promises to take on all challengers, and use his keen, strategerous mind to obliterate the competition.
-
Blackjack
The classic game with absolutely no hidden twists… we promise….
-
Trivia
Warm up for Escape the Bunker with some guided trivia.
-
Pictionary
Form a team, and compete against others in the traditional, shouting, screaming, “You draw like the Frog Boy,” argument-inducing party game.
-
Throw Water in the Actor’s Face
The vintage boardwalk staple re-appropriated for our modern times. Why simply dunk a stranger in water, when you could throw a drink in an obnoxious actor’s face! (I personally promise that star of stage, screen, and post-office bulletin board, Anthony Mead, will be in attendance.)
-
“Capture”
Get a sneak peak at the new, soon to be released, board game invented by EndTimes Resident Playwright Steve Strangio.
And of course…
-
Escape the Bunker
The main event game show, where you’ll get to know the EndTimes performers and a few very special guests. Everyone gets to watch, but only the top ticket earners each hour will be able to play. Prizes will be awarded.
———————————————————————————————————————-
It’s $10 at the door, which grants you entrance, and 20 tickets to start playing the games. Sets of 20 more tickets can be purchased throughout the night for $5. Games payout in tickets (read: more chances to play) with the main goal being to get a shot at playing Escape the Bunker.
FINAL WEEK of our Kickstarter Campaign
There’s 1 week left to raise the remaining money on our Kickstarter campaign. Click the Kickstarter logo above or click here to visit our campaign site!
Remember folks, this is not a “Save Our Show” drive, this is a “Help Us Make This Awesome!” campaign. The festival will go on one way or another. The question is how many awesome props, and set pieces, and costumes, and lighting effects, etc. can we afford to procure.
If haven’t visited out Kickstarter site yet, and watched our video… Do it! It’s awesome! If you have visited, we’re asking that you take this next week and help us make our final push. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell the world what’s going on and what we do. Send them info about the show, and tell them how important it is we make this show rock !
We want to Kickbutt on Kickstarter.
We’ve already been hailed as one of the best projects in New York to support by the HuffPost. If we actually pull off this fund raising campaign, think of the story!
We can do this. Help Us Make This Awesome!

“I went in prepared to hate it, ready to use every adjective in the book to slam their insensitivity, their cruelty — and walked out amazed at what they’d done with a story that, on its own merits, was already so far over the top it couldn’t be improved by satire. Playing it straight was satire.” — Chicago Sun-Times

Madame Lulu returns with her very own show, “Madame Lulu’s Cruelty Free Fayre”, an evening of singing, dancing, sadistic clowns, live brain surgery, and disembowelment. The first show whose content has been developed entirely by EndTimes, we’re entirely responsible for any queasiness, or emotional trauma.
Also featuring “Orgy In the Lighthouse”, a classic 19th Century Grand Guignol, about some nice religious folks who live in a lighthouse. Then the whores drop by. Madness, death, and orgies ensue. Fun for the whole family!
For Halloween Eve, 10/30, we’ll be doing a special 10:30 show, and following it up with the return of our kick-ass midnight movie series, featuring the greatest zombie movie ever told, George A. Romero’s original classic, “Dawn of the Dead”. Come for the guts, stay for the movie! Popcorn provided by Madame Lulu.
