NAKED HOLIDAYS is a darkly comic Yuletide bacchanalia, a gleeful pageant filled with indulgent tidings which climaxes in a scantily clad routine that looks a lot like Christmas. This boisterous holiday celebration puts a theatrical spin on some of our best-loved winter traditions. Highlights include:

• “The Annihilator” by Steve Strangio, about X-mas at a professional wrestler’s house.

• “Dead-Nosed” by Oliver Thrun, in which Santa’s reindeer plot the assassination of Rudolph.  A Samuel French short play festival finalist.

• “Fear the Nog” by Rebecca Jane Stokes, The North Pole meets Orwell’s 1984 with Santa as Big Brother.

• “A Very Special Hanukkah Special Hanukkah” by Mark Harvey Levine, a Jewish-themed spoof of It’s A Wonderful Life.

• “The Naked People Play” by Stacy Lane, the traditional Naked Holidays closer.

• “Rudnick the Candle-Headed Boy” , by Brad McEntire, A Brief and Cheeky Retelling of a Certain Reindeer Myth

SMART centers around Doug, a college student who is writing his dissertation on a pair of high school classmates who brutally murder a college professor and his wife. Posing as students doing research for a school survey, the teens hatch a plan to take the couple by surprise, threaten them into revealing their bank PIN numbers, rob and kill them — all to get money for a trip to Australia. The chilling scenes play out as Doug interviews one of the murders from jail, delving deep into the mind of a cold-blooded killer.

SMART stars Alessandro Colla, Kiersten Armstrong, Kelly Riley, Matthew Glogowski, Anthony Mead and Becky Sterling with costumes by Christopher Johnston, special effects by Leah Dashe and sound design by Stefan Bensaid.

Robert Fieldsteel’s plays have been produced in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. For Crazy Drunk, he received the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Best World Premiere Play and the Backstage West Garland Award for Playwriting. He’s a proud member of L.A.’s Dog Ear Playwrights’ Collective. www.dogear.org. Currently the Artistic Director of EndTimes, Dobular also served as the founding Artistic Director of Horse Trade Theater Group from 1997-2000.

EndTimes Productions is an independent Theater/Film Production Company founded in New York City in 2006. Its mission is to foster emerging artists and provide them with new creative outlets. EndTimes provides its artists with free rehearsal space, staff support, complete coverage of production expenses, and, for young directors, a mentoring program in which they assist more experienced directors on full productions. EndTimes Productions will present VIGNETTES FOR THE APOCALYPSE V, the 5th annual edition of New York’s oldest and largest Sci-fi/Horror themed theater festival, beginning June 9 at The Kraine Theater. This year, the Festival will offer 34 plays, a concert and a movie,  presented in 9 evening-length programs curated by Rusell Dobular. The Festival will premiere new works by Derek Ahonen (The Amoralists’ Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side), Mac Rogers (Best Play winner for Viral at FringeNYC),  Crystal Skillman (NYIT Award for Best Play for The Vigil), Jerrod Bogard (Spin Cycle for Wide Eyed Productions), Mark Borkowski (The Perfect Witness, Cost of A Soul), among others.

• Wardrobe of the Living Dead by Maximilian Clark. Trapped in a closet, hordes of the undead are scraping at the door. Please, God, if there’s anyone out there, do you know when the new season of House starts? Directed by Jenna Dempesy.

• The You Knows Know by Derek Ahonen. In a population controlled future where the “You Knows” have abused their political power, a young married couple hide from authority to protect their unborn child from a very different America. Directed by Kristin Skye Hoffmann.

• Spoken For by S.L. Daniels. In the future, the wealthy are so rich that they can afford to hire people to speak for them. Directed by Matthew Kreiner.

When the Texas Board of Education meets to revise the public school curriculum, the chairman leads the conservative majority on a darkly absurd blitzkrieg against reason, logic, and posterity. The school board’s lone liberal voice attempts to reign in their crusade, but finds her pleas for sanity fall on deaf ears–until a reanimated figure from America’s past intervenes. • With You, by Chris Van Strander. Sam attempts to contact his mother… beyond the grave. Directed by Tony Macy-Perez.

A Letter From Artistic Director Russell Dobular:

In June, we’ll be presenting “Vignettes for the Apocalypse V”, the fifth annual edition of the Sci-Fi/Horror festival that we started the company with. The festival format has been expanded this year to include full-length plays, film screenings, concerts, and guest artists, including Nosedive Productions, Clay Chapman, and Witches In Bikinis.  We have Spin Cycle NYC handling press this year, which means the festival is going to get wider coverage than it ever has before.  In many ways, VFTA:V is what we’ve been working up to as a company for the past four seasons.  All of this is going to be expensive.  Very expensive.  The space rental alone is $7,000, which about equals last year’s entire budget.  We can’t execute VFTA:V at the level we need to without help from the people who love us, and support what we do.  We’ve started a Kickstarter campaign to make donations quick and easy, and It all starts with a fun little video we produced just for the occasion.

EndTimes has always been funded almost entirely through ticket sales, and by its core members.  In order to continue to grow and prosper, we’re asking our community to help out for the first time.  As EndTimes becomes an increasingly professional company, with all the attendant mainstream press coverage that goes with it, our budgets are necessarily going up exponentially.  When The New York Times starts coming in, the rehearsal blocks and plastic props need to get retired, and that’s where we are.

During the four years of its existence, EndTimes had provided a creative home to literally hundreds of theater artists, producing over 100 unpublished short plays, and seven full-length productions.  We bring a joy and a passion to our work that creates a uniquely supportive and fun environment that leaves a lot of the people we work with saying, “This is what I got into theater for”.  And we’ve done it all with no funding.  Give us theater junkies a budget, and its only going to get bigger, and better.

Sarah Jane Marek is from a very small town in the Midwest (Winona, Minnesota) and is in the middle of a serious love affair with New York City. She is thrilled to be playing Squeaky in Manson the Musical.  Her recent productions include playing Carrie in Stephen King High School: The Musical at EndTimes Atomic Café, the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and the Los Angeles Comedy Festival and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors (Gilmore Creek Summer Theatre).

Alexander Dunbar- is a New Yorker with his heart in Texas, his bed in Brooklyn, and his left hand petting one of his cats. He started his training in Texas, where he developed a penchant and skill for stage combat (and hanging from chandeliers, in particular). Following his NYC relocation and graduation from AMDA in 2004, Alex has stayed busy co-starring with Chinese-food loving felines, working with our nations elderly, to Dreaming in the Mid Summer Night. He’s thrilled to be back on stage, and for the ongoing chance to prove to his family they didn’t waste their time or money. Hehehe.

Cheri Paige Fogleman is amazed. Who knew a little air guitar and a rendition of Proud Mary at the Manson audition would lead to this? Super happy. Cheri is a graduate of UNC School of the Arts and of the Maggie Flanigan Studio and has been seen acting on lots of stages in NY and lots of fun indie films AND dancing with many modern dance companies (including Shen Wei Dance Arts, and Aynsley Vandenbrouche Movement Group). Born in South Jamaica, Queens, Tiffany Herrioett began drug dealing at the age of twelve during the 1980s crack epidemic. After leaving drug dealing to pursue a rap career, she was shot at and struck by nine bullets during an incident in 2000. Oh, wait— that‘s 50 cent. Tiffany Herrioett currently teaches tap and ballet to little people (aka children) at Millennium Dance in Harlem, NY. With over a decade of training, she has previously performed at Madison Square Garden as a member of the St. John’s University Dance Team, and has performed as part of Walt Disney Magic Music Days. This is her first time as sole choreographer for a production. She would like to thank Russell for the opportunity, as well as her mom, who supported her by paying “1 million dollars” to facilitate her rigorous training. She would also like to thank the cast for their amazing hard work, and her very significant other, Colin, for his Ghandi-esque patience during the rehearsal process.

Serena began her musical education in church as a child and could not have then foreseen her participation in “Manson the Musical.” She has been playing cello for longer than she cares to confess and enjoys writing songs and arranging music for theater. Serena has worked with EndTimes Productions as an actress, a musician, and formerly a cleaner of bathrooms. Marek Sapieyevski has performed as an actor, singer, and musician throughout the U.S. and beyond. When not performing as characters that have ranged from a clown-torturing psychopath to a dancing singing moose, Marek is the banjo player for internationally touring mariachi/bluegrass/fusion group Rana Santacruz, the pianist for NYC honky tonk band The Crevulators, the Assistant Musical Director at EndTimes Productions, and was recently added as an endorsing artist for Deering banjos. Leal  is an American martial artist and actor who is best known for martial arts and action plays. His most successful plays include Central Park, Dead Lawyers, and appearances in numerous Met Opera productions. Due to his physique and his Belgian background, he is sometimes known as “The Muscles from Brussels.” After studying martial arts intensively from the age of ten, Vona achieved national success in Belgium as a martial artist and bodybuilder, earning the “Mr. Belgium” bodybuilding title. He emigrated to the United States in 2006 to pursue a career in theatre, and achieved breakout success with Naked Holidays 2008, based on the alleged true story of a Jew named Murray Baum. He attained subsequent box office success with his direction of last year’s Serling Award winner for Best Dramatic Script, Kitchen Scenes with Nightmares, which grossed over $100 million according to his own figures and became his most financially successful play. Amongst his performance tools are the liberal use of scissor kicks and broken English.

Russell Dobular

Russell Dobular is a New York native, born and raised in Flushing, Queens. His plays have been presented in New York, and Los Angeles, and he has directed several dozen productions, including the hit comedies “Angel Shit”, and “Everybody Dies”. Most recently, his production of “The Godling” took Best Director, and Best Ensemble honors at the the 2009 San Francisco Fringe Festival. Mr. Dobular also served as the founding Artistic Director of the Horse Trade Theater Group, from 1997-2000. He would like to thank the amazing cast and crew of “Manson the Musical,” for their dedication, and for making every day of the process a joy.

Jeremy Pape holds a BFA in acting from Philadelphia’s University of the Arts.  He is the associate artistic director and technical director of EndTimes Productions, a Manhattan based production company, and is currently enrolled in the New School’s MFA directing program (2012).  Recent credits include directing Hope Rd. and Knuckleball, which won best director, best drama and best overall production at the San Francisco Fringe in 2008.  In addition, he recently acted as assistant director for Hamlet with the Brooklyn Stage Company and performed design work for the Ammoralists’ critically acclaimed Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side at PS-122 and White Rabbit’s award winning Meredith’s Ring (best one-act or short play, Planet Connections, ’09).

James Neggie

Hails from Queens where his strict Catholic upbringing left him with a morbid obsession with the idea of eternal damnation. To sublimate this trauma James sought solace in comedy, music, and gourmet food. To this end he is a proud graduate of the conservatory program of the Second City; he is an accomplished Highland Bagpiper; and he suffers from a pronounced chafing problem.
